Shake It Up

Many recite and later on believe the famous quote, “Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.” I on the other hand am a strong believer that nothing tastes as good as confidence feels. Nothing makes me feel more confident then living a healthy and active life. Living a healthy life involves more than going to the gym and exercising. A healthy life entails eating what’s best for their body. When many of us think of eating healthy we think of drab salads and tasteless trail mix. A fun and simple way to shake up your healthy living is shakes. Shakes, other times known as smoothies, are delicious and ultimately painless ways to consume your daily fruits and veggies. Here are some great shake recipes that will leave you confident and your stomach satisfied.


Peach- Mango Shake


2/3 cup frozen sliced peaches

2/3 cup frozen mango pieces

2/3 cup peach nectar

1 tablespoon honey

1 (6-ounce) carton organic peach fat-free yogurt


Throw all the ingredients listed above into a blender; process 2 minutes or until smooth. Serve immediately.


Strawberry- Banana Shake

1 banana

1 cup strawberries

1/2 cup vanilla yogurt

1/2 milk

2 teaspoons honey

Pinch of cinnamon

1 cup ice


Throw all the ingredients listed above into a blender; process 2 minutes or until smooth. Serve immediately.


Apricot- Almond Shake

1 1/2 cups apricot nectar

1/2 cup vanilla yogurt

2 tablespoons almond butter

1 cup ice


Throw all the ingredients listed above into a blender; process 2 minutes or until smooth. Serve immediately.


Black Raspberry–Vanilla Shake

1 pint blackberries

1/2 cup raspberries

1 cup vanilla yogurt

1 tablespoon honey


Throw all the ingredients listed above into a blender; process 2 minutes or until smooth. Serve immediately.


Veggie Shake

1 1/4 cups tomato juice

1/4 cup carrot juice

1/2 peeled cucumber

1/2 celery stalk

1/4 cup parsley

1/4 cup spinach

1/2 cup ice


Throw all the ingredients listed above into a blender; process 2 minutes or until smooth. Serve immediately.


Kale- Banana Shake

1 banana

2 cups chopped kale

1/2 cup light unsweetened soy milk

1 tablespoon flax seeds

1 teaspoon maple syrup


Throw all the ingredients listed above into a blender; process 2 minutes or until smooth. Serve immediately.


Cucumber- Honeydew Shake

1 cucumber (peeled, seeded, chopped)

2 cups cubed honeydew melon

2 cups passion fruit juice

8 sprigs fresh mint

2 cups crushed ice


Throw all the ingredients listed above into a blender; process 2 minutes or until smooth. Serve immediately.
